Hello potential performers young and old – Discover Brislington Brook has just got funding from Bristol City Council’s Creative Seed Fund to put on low cost (£15 for 11 workshops) creative drama/performance workshops for children (aged 8-12) and their parents/grandparents/guardians!
The workshops will culminate in a fabulous performance as part of this year’s St Anne’s Day Pageant and Festival on the 26th July. For those who haven’t been before, this is a colourful community celebration of Brislington’s famous medieval past. This year’s pageant looks like it will be more flamboyant than ever.
The only stipulation for the drama workshops is that you are available for at least 80% of the Monday sessions, as well as the 24th July for the dress rehearsal and 26th July for the final performance.
Please send me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to register a place for you and your child!
In the run up to the pageant there will also be a few additional free workshops for anyone to come to that will include actives such as animation, costume, and mask making; Follow Discover Brislington Brook on Facebook to keep updated.
If anyone is interested in helping contribute to the wider festival (costumes, stalls, music, games, publicity etc) we are holding a public meeting at Make & Do Emporium, 83 Sandy Park Rd on Thurs 1st May, 7:30-9pm. See our Facebook event for more details https://www.facebook.com/events/688970737821480/
Hope to see you there!
